Race Night on 2nd February!
THURSDAY 2ND FEBRUARY IS "RACE NIGHT"
£5 per person entry fee
Come along to the Clubhouse from 7.30 pm and enjoy a night at the Races.
The 8 nail biting races are for you to bet upon. The races have been filmed at specially selected events held at British racecourses. To add humour to the race the names of the actual races and horses taking part have been changed. You will be able to study the form of each horse, a summary of the 8 horses, details of the silks worn by the jockey and you will then be able to bet on your favourite. You are not expected to bet large sums of money as the amount of the bets will be limited.

Club Championships Finals Weekend
Club Championships Finals Weekend Sponsored by Nick Rivett Sport
The 2011 Club Championships Finals Weekend held in September provided some excellent tennis to watch despite the weather making it more challenging for the players and spectators. There were 18 titles to contend for ranging from the 8&Under Mixed singles up to the 100+ Doubles event, plus the 4 most improved player awards. As well as the tennis to watch, spectators and players also enjoyed the delicious cakes, food and produce available to purchase from the various stalls plus the BBQ and sports massage which were also available throughout the weekend. Professional photographs were taken by one of our members of all the finalists in action and these can be viewed / purchased from their website. A list of the winners and runners up will be displayed on the Clubhouse notice board and a big thanks to everyone involved who helped make it a very enjoyable weekend, especially to Nick Rivett Sport for sponsoring this event.
Generation Tournament & Halloween Tournament
The Generation Tournament was held at the beginning of September and as in previous years, proved to be a very popular event both with the players and spectators. The idea of an adult partnering a junior and playing timed doubles matches using a handicap scoring system resulted in some very close matches plus the odd child moaning at their parent for making a mistake! The event was run by the Coaching Team and with 50 players taking part using all 10 courts, raised over £300 for the Club’s Sinking Fund.
The Halloween Tournament will be held on Sunday 30th October 1.30pm till 5.30pm. Doubles matches will be played inside and outside and the event will be run by the Coaching Team. It is open to adults plus ‘yellow ball’ juniors and you can enter with a partner or on your own and we will try to find you a partner. There will be a finger food buffet provided by the Bar at the end of play and fancy dress is optional but definitely more fun! The winners and best fancy dress outfit will receive prizes and there is also the option of going ‘trick or treating’ after all the tennis is finished! Christmas Party on 9th December
There will be a Christmas Party in the clubhouse on Friday 9th December. Further details soon!
Generation Tournament on Saturday 16th July
This is a fun tournament run by the Coaching Team. Teams consist of 1 adult and 1 junior (orange ball upwards).
Enter with a partner or on your own and we will try to find you a partner. Matches will be timed in a Round Robin format using a simple handicap system and there will be prizes for all group winners.
Entry fees are £7 per player (excluding lunch), small discount for families with more than 2 participants.
Lunch is a BBQ. Please book with the bar.

Club Championships 2011

Entry forms must be completed and returned to the bar by 12th June.
The Championships will start from SATURDAY 18TH JUNE - Finals weekend will be 17th and 18th September. We would like to make this as successful as last year so if any of you would like to have a stall at these Championships please let us know or start planning now.
Club Open Day on Saturday 25th June
We will be holding another open day from 2.00pm and everyone is welcome, members, friends, family and anyone who wants to see our wonderful club and play some tennis.
There will be various free activities on the day including a racket display from Nick Rivett sports.
Coaches Club Night on Friday 10th June
The coaches will be holding another of their great club nights from 6.30 pm to 8.15pm. It's free and everyone is welcome.
It will be followed by a BBQ which will cost £5 per person. If you would like to come to the BBQ please sign up at the bar by WEDS 8TH JUNE
