Quiz Night on 26th August
Please come and join us at the next Pav & Ave Quiz Night on Thursday 26th August at 8.00pm.
Entry fee is £8 pp to include prizes for 1st and 2nd place and some savoury nibbles to keep you going.
Our new Guest Quizmaster and member of Pav & Ave is RICHARD CREW – known throughout the world and particularly at the Exchange pub for his superb quizzes. You will love him!

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Club Championships will be sponsored by Intersport Nick Rivett Sports Ltd of 64 Church Street, Hove.
As part of the sponsorship, everyone who has entered the Championships will receive a free 4-ball tin of Head ATP Tennis Balls. Simply collect your tennis balls between 28 July through to 11 August 2010 from the shop.
Shop openings hours are 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Saturday and 11:00am-4:00pm, Sunday.
As usual, the Club will be presenting trophies to the winners and runners up of each event and in addition Nick Rivett Sports will be donating prizes to the event winners, together with 4 special trophies that will be awarded to the most improved members in the following categories; Mini Tennis 10&Under, 18&Under, Senior and Veteran. All trophies and awards will be presented on finals day on the 19 September so even if you are not entering this year, you might just win the improver award!
The Generation Tournament was a great success!
The Pav & Ave Generation Tournament, staged by the Coaching Team with Head Coach Julie as referee, successfully took place on Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May.
36 pairs entered, of which some 18 pairs were a family affair. There were a few exclamations to parents from their offsprings when a point was lost but thankfully any major ‘fallings out’ were avoided!!
In spite of the cold wind and threatening skies, all pairs played 5 timed matches using a handicap scoring system. After the tennis most of the players and their supporters then tucked into a buffet lunch and prizes were given to the winning team from each of the 6 boxes.
Thank you to everyone who helped in different ways to make this tournament such a special event.

Julie comes home with a Gold Medal!
Julie has returned from the World Team Championships in Mexico with a gold medal. Playing singles and doubles she was part of the victorious Great Britain over 35s ladies team winning the Suzanne Lenglen Cup.
On Saturday 10th April we held a surprise welcome home party in the bar which was very well attended. Pictures of the party are in the photo gallery.

Julie selected to play for Great Britain!
I am delighted to have been selected to play for the Great Britain Over 35’s Team competing in the World Team Championships in Mexico City at the end of March. I am part of a 4 player team and will be competing against many of my old adversaries! Practice had been going really well until I aggravated my achilles tendon but I am hoping to make a full recovery in time for the event.

Summer Coaching Team Clubnights
The Coaching Team will again be hosting ‘Clubnights’ during the summer months which will consist of drills, coaching, fun and games, matchplay and we hope many members will come and join us on these Friday evenings from 6.30pm onwards. The provisional dates are as follows;
